With my own wedding day fast approaching (OK 11 months away but still...) I am starting to put things into place for preparation of my big day, forget place settings and floral arrangements, I'm talking beauty! After all it's not all about the make up on the day, flawless skin needs work and there is no better time than now to begin your wedding day beauty prep!
I've been searching for a multi-purpose oil for my face and hair and any other dry patches I may have in the depths of this cold winter. My wedding is in December and I need to grow my hair by at least 5 inches. I'm also a firm advocate of massaging oil into my face at night, not only does it make you feel sleepy and ready for a good nights sleep, the massage drains away any toxins you may be carrying in your lymph glands and the oil moisturizes and protects your face from free radicals all night long, leaving you fresh and moisturized for the morning. With this in mind I've been searching high and low for an oil that will aid my hair growth and keep my skin in check.
At last, my calls have been answered. After an impromptu browse in Superdrug I stumbled across a 200ml bottle of Sweet Almond Oil. I've heard a lot about the benefits of almond oil so I grabbed it (not least because it was £1.49!!!!!) After 2 weeks of massaging this little gem of a find into my face every other night and twice weekly oil treatments in my hair I can safely say I am addicted to this stuff. My skin is bright and blemish free and my hair is soft and shiny. Even my hands have benefited from the oil merely from massaging the oil into my face. I will definitely be repurchasing this oil and will use it in the run up to my wedding day.
Here are my other go-to products which I will be using in the run up to the wedding.
Clarins Cottonseed Cream Cleanser – This is my favourite cleanser as it foams up and really gives you a deep down clean.
Glamglow Mud Mask – This mask is a miracle worker. It contains dead sea minerals and volcanic ash and instantly tightens pores. Great to use on the day of your wedding and the months running up to it.
Dermalogica Microfoliant – This is a gentle brightening polisher that finely exfoliates without being too harsh. I use this daily as it is gentle enough. It is so important to exfoliate your skin before your wedding day so that your make up sits on your skin without the dead skin counteracting with it.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner – I love this toner as it is affordable but feels and smells luxurious. It provides great moisturisation and protects against free radicals throughout the day.
